As you know, outside of our coaching staff, the Oakton Otters are a 100% volunteer run team!  We are excited for the new dive season to start and are thankful for so many wonderful divers and families!  Volunteer support is critical to making the season a success, so each family needs to fulfill certain volunteer requirements. 

Volunteer registration opens in May. 

• Families with 1 Otter Diver must sign up for 4 points in order to satisfy your volunteer requirement.
• Families with 2 Otter Divers must sign up for 6 points in order to satisfy your volunteer requirement.
• Families with 3 or more Otter Divers will work with dive reps to find suitable positions to satisfy points.

Depending on the number of registrants we have, the point total may change slightly. For reference, last year each family had to fulfill 4 volunteer points.

BEFORE signing up, we strongly encourage you to read the Volunteer FAQs section to know the qualifications and experience, as well as time commitment for each volunteering role. 

How to volunteer for specific meets:

1. Sign in to Divetopia. If you have swimmers and divers, make sure to select the Dive team.
2. Click on the "Meets & Events" > CALENDAR tab.
3. Find the first event you want to sign up for. 
4. Click on the “Job Signup” button associated with that event.
5. You will now see a list of family members that can volunteer. Under the name of the person that will be volunteering for the selected event, please click “sign up for jobs.”
6. Check the box associated with the job you want to volunteer for. For more information about each job, hover over the black circle with an “i” in it.
7. Click “Save Assignments.”
8. That family member name will now be associated with the job you wanted.
9. If another family member wants to volunteer for the same event, repeat steps #5-7.
10. If you are ready to sign up for another event, repeat steps #3-7 until you have signed up for the appropriate number of points for your family.

Once you are finished, to confirm your point total and see a list of jobs that you have signed up for:

1. Go to the home page and hover over your name in the top right-hand corner.
2. Click on “My Account.”
3. Click on each family member name to see the jobs associated with that family member.

Remember - we wouldn’t be able to run a complete season without all of our Otter Dive families. Please sign up for the complete volunteer requirement – that is the number of positions per family that are needed to run this dive season. Our divers are counting on us to run these meets and social events!
